Odd Ends

This is one of those 'dishes of orts' days.

(Note: Bartleby.com is a free English language reference site and is perfectly awesome).

Linguistic trivia: the French idiom equivalent to 'bats in the belfry' (meaning crazy) is 'une araignée au plafond' (a spider on the ceiling). Why I did not learn this useful expression in school I don't know.

I think I have solved a knitting problem which has been preying on my mind for some time now. It has to do with designing a hat for the Viking, and as it remains to be seen if I'm right or not, I'm not going to get into details. If I am right, I will discuss it in full.
