A Selbu Modern(pdf link) for Maman. Yarn: Crystal Palace Panda Silk Solid in Blue Jeans (3007) and Lemon Cream (3010) -- the colours of primroses and wild chicory. I had to go up needle sizes to get gauge; this was done on US 1 (2.25 mm) and 3 (3.25) needles.
What didn't get done:
A Silken Smoke Cowl for Sis. This project was iffy from the start, since Sis didn't request it until about Thanksgiving. Still, I probably would have made a better showing if I hadn't had to rip out 3 times because I keep twisting the join. Moebius strips have their uses but this isn't one of them. Yarn: Classic Elite Wool Bam Boo in Blueberry (1649). Sis requested a "deep blue that gets along well with rich reds and purples," and I think this does the job.
What was given:
One tiny, precious ball of yarn. Maman says she bought this at a wildlife sanctuary on her trip to Alaska this summer.
