A colleague stopped by my cube to ask if there was any news on the state of a project that has been stalled due to Forces Beyond Our ControlTM.
I had no news, due both to those Forces and to the fact that people higher up the food chain have stalled out the clearance process for an entire category of actions -- a category that includes the specific project she had asked about. This I told the colleague.
She sighed and shook her head. "Well, one day, we'll retire."
