Inspired in part by the poem I linked in last week's Dose of Funk, I'm taking a turn into DC Go-Go, dance hall style of funk so called allegedly because the music just goes and goes. Go-Go's heyday was in the 70s and 80s, but it's still extremely popular in the African American community in and around DC.
