The deadlines are coming hard and fast, not whooshing by gracefully but slamming into bodies like so many hailstones. The bruises are starting to mount, and the only serious consolations available are 'it's not just me' and 'this too shall pass.'
Back on my kitchen counter, I have a bag of beautiful quinces which I bought during a soggy St Crispin's day trip to western Maryland. Felicitously, both The Medieval Garden Enclosed and Chocolate and Zucchini have recently posted thoughts on the quince. It is my hope that this weekend I'll be able to do something with my own store.
