Almost Like a Vacation

Once I leave the office this afternoon I am out for the weekend. Four whole days off feels almost like a vacation.

Plans include:

A raid in WoW (weeknight raids are a rare luxury; tonight I get to go to the Black Temple);

Some shopping Friday while the Viking is at work (real shopping, in actual stores, and not just for groceries);

Pottering in the garden. Possibly more than pottering, there is work to be done;

Enjoying On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, the game developed in concert with the guys at Penny Arcade, and which looks to be excellent fun. (You can get the game, or try out a free demo, at the greenhouse). PA seems to be one of those things that either people really enjoy or really hate; I am at a loss to explain why. I am a fan and played through the game demo last night. I liked it well enough to shell out the $19.95 for the full game, and now that I've got the hang of the combat system (turn-based, and I haven't played a turn-based game in a while) I anticipate some happy hours smacking robots with garden rakes; and

Napping. Probably with cats, since Fergus regards me as his especial property and will get as near to me as possible when naptime comes, and because Maeve will not allow him to make a claim without challenging it.

Happy Memorial Day weekend.

(edit to fix the link to PA. Blogger has a very bad habit of thinking all links should be to it).

  1. See I *knew* I like you for a reason. The key that I've found for "On the Rain-slick Precipice of Darkness" is get *really* familiar with blocking, otherwise it's just a skosh difficult :)
